15 June 2003 - Flying High Awareness Day

Sunday 15th June 2003 was the date of The Anthony Nolan Trust Suffolk Support Group's Flying High Awareness Day at Old Buckenham airfield. Many months in the planning, the response to our appeal for volunteers was outstanding! 15 tandem skydivers, 11 wing walkers and 8 aerobatic flight passengers took part in what was an amazing fund raising day. The weather could not have been better, and over 1000 spectators came to enjoy a grand day out. In between taking up our intrepid volunteer wing walkers, the Utterly Butterly team gave a most impressive display to the delight of the enthralled crowd. The Chairman of the Support Group, Melvyn Douglas, did a splendid job of overseeing the day and over £7000 was eventually raised.
